Căn cứ vào điều kiện kinh tế xã hội, hạ tầng kỹ thuật xử lý chất thải rắn sinh hoạt và định hướng phát triển của từng địa phương, Ủy ban nhân dân cấp tỉnh có thể lựa chọn việc phân loại chất thải rắn sinh hoạt khác quy định tại điểm c khoản 1 Điều 75 Luật Bảo vệ môi trường như sau:

1\. Chất thải cồng kềnh;

2\. Chất thải nguy hại;

3\. Chất thải khác còn lại.”.
